Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Keepr when you use the Keepr app and website. Please read them; by creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are and who can use Keepr
Keepr is a campus marketplace in Nigeria. Buyers order from verified student sellers on their own campus, payment is held by Keepr until the buyer confirms receipt, and verified student riders deliver to lodges and hostels. We are launching at the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA).
To use Keepr you must be a student or member of a campus we serve, give your real name, matric number, department, phone number and lodge, and be old enough to enter a binding agreement (or have a parent or guardian's permission).
2. Your account
- One account holds one role: buyer, seller or rider. You can't switch role later. Every account can shop.
- Your full name, matric number, department and campus are locked after sign-up so every order stays traceable. Contact support to correct a mistake.
- You may choose a nickname. Other members see your nickname (or your first name if you don't set one), never your full name.
- Keep your sign-in email secure. You are responsible for everything done from your account.
- Sellers and riders must pass a student ID check (riders also show proof they own their vehicle) before selling or taking jobs.
3. How payment and escrow work
When you check out, you pay Keepr through Paystack. Keepr holds that money and does not release it to the seller or rider until you tap I've received it, or a dispute is decided. If auto-release is switched on for your campus, an order marked delivered is released after the stated number of hours unless you open a dispute first.
Released earnings go to the seller's and rider's Keepr balance. They withdraw to their own Nigerian bank account by request; payouts take up to 12 hours and have minimum amounts shown on the Earnings page. Keepr may hold or reverse earnings tied to a dispute, fraud or a chargeback.
4. Fees
- Buyers pay a 7% service fee on the items plus delivery, shown before you pay.
- Sellers receive their item total less a 5% Keepr fee.
- Riders receive the delivery fee less a 3% Keepr fee.
- Delivery is priced by distance on campus (currently ₦500 per 5 km band, rounded up).
- Keepr pays the Paystack charge and transfer fees from its share. Fees may change; new fees apply only to orders placed after the change and are always shown at checkout.
5. Selling on Keepr
- List only items you own and have in hand, with honest photos, descriptions and prices.
- Prepare orders promptly and hand them over only to the buyer or the assigned rider.
- Each order is with one store. You can't buy from your own store.
- You are responsible for the items you sell and for any taxes on your income.
6. Delivering on Keepr
- Accept only jobs you can complete. Collect from the seller and deliver to the buyer's chosen point.
- Never open, swap or keep goods. You can't take a delivery job on your own order.
- Ride safely and follow campus and road rules. You are responsible for your vehicle.
7. Prohibited items and conduct
You may not buy, sell or deliver:
- Drugs, alcohol to anyone underage, tobacco or vapes where banned, prescription medicine
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives or anything dangerous
- Stolen, counterfeit or fake goods, or items that infringe someone's rights
- Exam questions, answer scripts, assignments for submission, or anything that breaks university rules
- Adult content, live animals, human remains, or anything illegal in Nigeria
You may not harass, threaten or scam anyone, move a trade off Keepr to avoid escrow or fees, create more than one account in the same role, use someone else's identity, or abuse chat, reviews, refunds or disputes.
8. Disputes and refunds
If something goes wrong with an order that hasn't been confirmed, the buyer can open a dispute from the order page. The money stays held while Keepr staff review the chat, photos and order history and decide whether to refund the buyer or release payment to the seller (and rider). Keep evidence in the Keepr chat. Staff decisions are final on Keepr, without affecting any rights you have under Nigerian law.
9. Freezing and banning accounts
To keep trades safe, Keepr may act on an account we reasonably believe is being misused: fraud or suspected fraud, prohibited items, scams, abuse of other members, fake identity, repeated disputes against you, or breaking these terms.
- Freeze: temporary. You can still sign in and see your orders and messages, but can't buy, sell, list, take or move deliveries, send messages or withdraw. Your store is hidden. A freeze may have an end date or last until we review it.
- Ban: permanent. You are signed out and can't use Keepr. The same email, matric number and phone number can't be used to sign up again.
- We tell you the reason for a freeze in the app. Money held on unfinished orders is settled by staff through the dispute process; earned balances may be held while we investigate.
- If you think we got it wrong, contact Keepr support. We review appeals and can lift a freeze or ban.
10. Reviews and content
Reviews must be honest and about a real order. You keep ownership of photos and text you post, and give Keepr permission to show them in the app to run the marketplace. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
11. Our responsibility
Keepr provides the platform, escrow and dispute process. Sellers are responsible for their goods and riders for their deliveries. To the extent Nigerian law allows, Keepr is not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other Nigerian law.
12. Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date above and ask you to accept the new version in the app before you continue. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. For questions, appeals or complaints, contact Keepr support.
This is a working draft for Keepr's launch at FUTMINNA and may change. Questions? Contact Keepr support.
